چکیده
When we try to transfer these three concepts to a “curved manifold” M , the situation becomes instantly very complicated. Let us look for an appropriate class of M ’s for which we can expect satisfactory answers. We need the requirement to measure distances, so M should be Riemannian. In order to have a reasonable theory of selfadjoint operators on M we also need completeness. But still the class of complete Riemannian manifolds is far too big for our purpose. Let us assume that M “looks everywhere the same”; i.e., M allows a transitive action by a Lie group G of isometries. Hence

Numerical solution of the wave equation using shearlet frames
In this paper, using shearlet frames, we present a numerical method for solving the wave equation. We define a new shearlet system and by the Plancherel theorem, we calculate the shearlet coefficients.
متن کاملTannaka-krein Duality for Compact Groupoids Ii, Fourier Transform
Abstract. In a series of papers, we have shown that from the representation theory of a compact groupoid one can reconstruct the groupoid using the procedure similar to the Tannaka-Krein duality for compact groups. In this part we study the Fourier and Fourier-Plancherel transforms and prove the Plancherel theorem for compact groupoids. We also study the central functions in the algebra of squa...
متن کاملImportance of Zak Transforms for Harmonic Analysis
In engineering and applied mathematics, Zak transforms have been effectively used for over 50 years in various applied settings. As Gelfand observed in a 1950 paper, the variable coefficient Fourier series ideas articulated in Andre Weil’s famous book on integration lead to an exceedingly elementary proof of the Plancherel Theorem for LCA groups. The transform for functions on R appearing in Za...

متن کاملq-ANALOGUE OF THE DUNKL TRANSFORM ON THE REAL LINE
In this paper, we consider a q-analogue of the Dunkl operator on R, we define and study its associated Fourier transform which is a q-analogue of the Dunkl transform. In addition to several properties, we establish an inversion formula and prove a Plancherel theorem for this q-Dunkl transform. Next, we study the q-Dunkl intertwining operator and its dual via the q-analogues of the Riemann-Liouv...
متن کاملNonharmonic Gabor Expansions
We consider Gabor systems generated by a Gaussian function and prove certain classical results of Paley and Wiener on nonharmonic Fourier series of complex exponentials for the Gabor expansion. In particular, we prove a version of Plancherel-Po ́lya theorem for entire functions with finite order of growth and use the Hadamard factorization theorem to study regularity, exactness and deficienc...
